My Teaching Philosophy
From playing teacher with friends to teaching in school, the field of education has always appealed to me. Students will be learning in a warm and welcoming classroom. As a teacher, I will be available to help students academically and emotionally. It is in a relationship of trust that we can build a sense of community, and build bigger projects. I will be a supporter of their work and effort. Care and trust are key values I will foster in our classroom. In my classroom, you will find that:
- Students are active agents of their educational journey.
- Teaching and learning is student-centered.
- I use observation to learn about what works best for each student.
- Lessons are designed to fit students’ interests, abilities and learning styles.
- The classroom is their classroom. Students are more open to respond or participate, if they feel that what they say will be considered.
- I create a diverse and inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to share their experience and to connect them to new learning.
- Technology is used as a tool to support learning.
- Parent involvement is welcomed and appreciated. Students’ parents are one of the most important stakeholders of the school. They need to be part of their child's school life.
All in all, school is a place to live, to learn, to make mistakes in a safe environment, to get support, to try again and to laugh.
